Science Week starts with a BANG!

Children from Reception to Year 6 were blown away by a show conducted by Petrosains last week.

At the heart of the performance was the degradation of hydrogen peroxide into oxygen and water- commonly known as the “elephant toothpaste” reaction. In a series of experiments, children were introduced to chemistry and looked at the effect of different concentrations and catalysts.

The final experiment was explosive and a perfect way to start science week with a bang! Everyone’s curiosity was piqued and it has been the talk of the school all week - it has been great to see children developing a passion for science and the wonders it can bring.
