Ms Ana Vega (Head of Spanish) 
Ana is from a small Spanish holiday island where she grew up surrounded by tourists. She developed an interest for them and their cultures and decided to study translation and interpreting. She soon discovered that she was better at explaining grammar concept to her fellow students than her own university teachers, so she decided to do a PGCE. She started her teaching career in a British International School in Valencia. After four years, she moved to London, where she worked in several state schools for 6 years, with a very varied intake of students from all over the world. At her last school she was Head of Spanish and Assistant Head of Faculty. She also teaches German and French. She has travelled all over Europe and has learnt languages such as Turkish and Greek. Now she is very keen on learning Bahasa and Mandarin and explore South East Asia.

Ms Blandine Pouchard (French Teacher and Year 9 Tutor)
During her 18 years of teaching, Blandine has worked in a variety of schools and environments, both in France and South-East Asia. Over the last ten years, she has mainly worked in Singapore and Malaysia and has developed a strong knowledge of the local environment. Having worked with students from various nationalities, Blandine understands the challenges and benefits of teaching languages in an international environment.

Mrs Eva Xi Zhao (Head of Chinese Mandarin Curriculum)
Eva got her qualification as a Mandarin teacher in 2004 and finished her Masters degree in 2013. She has years of teaching Mandarin in a variety of schools, including public schools in mainland China and international schools. Eva has taught a wide range of students from KS1 through to KS5. When not at work Eva has a real passion of experiencing different cultures and making craft by hand.

Ms Gloria Chiu (Head of Mandarin)
Gloria has been Head of Mandarin at BSKL since 2014, introducing the IGCSE first and foreign language programmes. Outside of work Gloria enjoys reading about child development and psychology to further her understanding of children's development and behaviour. She also loves travelling as she enjoys swimming, food hunting and participating in cultural events.

Ms Ying Ying Tan (Mandarin Teacher)
Ying Ying has been teaching at BSKL for 5 years. She has taught Mandarin across Key Stages 2 and 3 with the British School Foundation. Ying Ying holds a Teaching Certificate of Chinese as a Foreign Language and with her experience, she has a solid understanding of the challenges in learning Mandarin as a Second Language. Being a language enthusiast, Ying Ying speaks four different languages including Japanese and Bahasa Malaysia. She finds enormous satisfaction in picking up new languages and sharing her enthusiasm with the students she teaches. She enjoys working with a variety of children from different countries and being the House Advisor for Vikings has given her a huge opportunity to do that. In her spare time, Ying Ying enjoys travelling and playing musical instruments such as piano and violin.

Ms Claire Fong (Mandarin Teacher)
Claire joined BSKL in 2013. She has in-depth knowledge and key understanding of the Chinese language. She is a member of the Malaysian Sinology Association and she enjoys attending the Chinese study international conference; this allows her to further elevate herself and bring all that she has learned to her students. Her interest is travel; she enjoys going to different places to have a different experience and knowledge from different cultures.

Ms Su Lin Khoo (Mandarin Teacher)
Su Lin is a Mandarin teacher who enjoys teaching and learning with children. She enjoys reading and researching Psychology during her spare time.

Norazila is a member of the Bahasa Department and enjoys teaching all year groups in BSKL. In her spare time she likes being immersed in a novel and story book writing. She also loves to travel.

Ms Arswini Rajan (Bahasa Teacher)
Arswini graduated from the University of Roehampton.  She had one year experience as a Teaching Assistant and four years as a Bahasa Malaysia Teacher for the students of Reception to Grade 11, in an international school in Kuala Lumpur. She also has experience teaching other subjects like Mathematics and Arts. Arswini enjoys listening to music, baking and reading novels in her leisure time.

Izzat ia a member of the Bahasa Department. He believes creativity is the key to outstanding teaching, hence the modern day teacher needs to embrace creativity in cultivating young minds. He loves to create and design various classroom activities and differentiated teaching materials, which can boost the student's interest in learning.
